What Usually Goes Wrong With a Coffee Machine
Dubai's hard water is behind more coffee machine breakdowns than any other single cause. Mineral deposits build up inside boilers, valves, and pipework, and over time this shows up as weak pressure, slow brewing, unusual noise, or a machine that heats slowly or not at all. The rest of the common faults we see are mechanical or electrical rather than about water quality. A pump wears down, a seal or gasket hardens and starts to leak, a steam wand blocks, or a control board stops responding to the display. Left alone, a small fault like a worn seal tends to turn into a bigger one, such as internal water damage to the electronics.
- Machine will not brew or takes far longer than usual
- Water leaking from the base, tank, or portafilter area
- No heat, or the machine shuts off mid-cycle
- Weak, inconsistent, or noisy pump pressure
- Steam wand producing little or no steam
- Grinder jamming or making a grinding noise without output
- Error codes or a blank display panel
