When a Fan Heater Needs a Technician
Most fan heater faults show up in a small number of ways. Recognizing them early keeps a minor repair from turning into a full replacement.
- The fan runs but blows cold or lukewarm air
- The unit will not switch on, or shuts off after a few minutes
- A burning smell during use
- Rattling, grinding, or unusual noise from the fan
- The thermostat or temperature dial no longer responds
- The heater trips the circuit breaker
- Visible damage to the plug, cord, or housing
